DOUG’S STORY: Using Porn Ruined My Relationship and Drove Me to Watch Underage Porn and Get Investigated for It

Here is Doug’s story, which shows how adult pornography use can ruin relationships and escalate to child porn use and police investigations!

I like your page, and porn does hurt people, as it has for me personally.

Porn distorts and harms relationships…

I was first exposed to porn at about 10 and watched it on and off for years… While I don’t have any moral objection to the men and women who do it, I’m fascinated by the psychological state of a woman who is willing to have sex on camera with a complete stranger and allow herself to be degraded in the videos I’ve seen.

Well, I’m not defending porn, but keep in mind that most of these women choose to enter into the business… they are not all victims…. However, I do feel sorry for a lot of them and do feel a bit bad after watching it. Almost like I am victimizing someone who is obviously screwed up.

The issue of porn basically destroyed my relationship because I thought it was ok to watch it when my girlfriend wasn’t with me. Her father had issues with porn as well.

As my problem with porn progressed, I found myself looking up more and more disturbing things, the worst being underage porn. For this I have a lot of guilt and now I am in the middle of an investigation. I got rid of the computer that the illegal stuff was on, but that doesn’t make the guilt and the feeling of what I did go away.

Porn is not just videos and pictures… Whether you realize it or not you are victimizing someone and poisoning your mind.

Traci grew up in an abusive home and was raped at the age of 10 by a neighborhood boy. Her career in the sex industry began when she ran away from home at age 15. She obtained a fake I.D. "mainly to get a job…as a waitress, just some sort of employment," Traci says. "I was really desperate."
When she answered an ad for a figure model in a local newspaper, she was quickly swept up into the porn industry. Nude modeling led to a centerfold in Penthouse, which quickly led to hard-core pornography.
"I had stars in my eyes," she recalls. "And I thought, 'Okay…maybe this is a way of having the attention and having everybody like me."
Battling her "self-loathing," Traci says turning to the porn industry was her way of getting attention.
"It wasn't about sex… it was about numbing out, finding a place to put that anger. I was very aggressive…it was vengeance… it was about attention."
