New York ‘Cannibal’ Cop Watched DEATH PORN and Planned to TORTURE, MURDER AND EAT HIS WIFE AND OTHER WOMEN

20130227-132108.jpg

Degrading and abusing women wasn’t enough, so now some porn users have moved on to DEATH PORN and CANNIBALIZING WOMEN for their sexual thrills. Sadly this seems almost inevitable, considering that porn users are continually getting more and more desensitized and needing to seek out more and more extreme content to get the same level of sexual arousal as they did in the past. In any case, check out the horrifying story below, but PLEASE BE WARNED! IT IS EXTREMELY GRAPHIC AND DISTURBING!

[The News Tribe] — The estranged wife of a New York policeman sobbed as she testified that her husband, who is accused of plotting to kidnap and cannibalize women, went online to discuss torturing and killing her.

Kathleen Mangan-Valle, 27, was the star witness for the prosecution in a trial that opened with her telling the jury that Gilberto Valle had a desire to “cannibalize human flesh.”

The allegations are so gruesome that the court had to screen potential jurors for their views on extreme sexual fantasies, showing them a photograph of a woman trussed up in a cooking pan, with an apple stuffed in her mouth.

Mangan-Valle said she caught her husband, who has pleaded not guilty to a kidnapping conspiracy, visiting websites that were dedicated to violent sexual fetishes. The couple were raising a young daughter at the time.

Repeatedly crying in the crammed Manhattan federal courtroom, Mangan-Valle described her decision to flee the house with the baby after finding horrific pictures on a computer from one of Valle’s late-night Internet sessions.

“The girl on the front page was dead,” she said, while another website her husband visited featured “pictures of feet that were not attached to bodies.”

On closer inspection, she realized that Valle, 28, had exchanged “thousands of emails” with other death porn enthusiasts and that he had shared photographs of people they knew.

“Suddenly I was staring at pictures of me, at pictures of friends,” Mangan-Valle said.

In one plan discussed online, “I was going to be tied up by my feet and my wrists and my throat slit and they were going to watch the blood drain out of me.”

Overcome, Mangan-Valle was allowed to compose herself outside of the courtroom. Her husband sat at the defendant’s table with his head in his hands.

But Valle’s attorney, Julia Gatto, countered that the six-year veteran of the New York Police Department had only been fantasizing the whole time, and said her client was a good family man, despite “very bizarre” sexual fantasies.

She said the website where he exchanged his horrific ideas has 38,000 other registered members, all of them just fantasists.

“This is the difference between reality and fantasy. There is a difference between make believe and the real world: that’s what this case is about,” she said.

However, lead prosecutor Randall Jackson called that defense “utterly bogus” and said Valle was targeting “very real” women, in one instance “discussing the logistics of fitting her into an oven.”

Racism in Pornography Is the Industry Standard – by Alex Pesek

20130227-131712.jpg

Here’s a thought-provoking post on the rampant RACISM in pornography, written by a young man for his college paper. He makes a lot of excellent points!

[The Maneater] — It’s inevitable that at some point we all look at porn. Fascination with pornography starts at a young age, satisfying juvenile curiosity through a Google search or by sneaking on pay-per-view when parents go to bed. Some of us come to learn of our desires through pornography, by being shown new things we might be attracted to while also giving us an idea of our limits and boundaries.

Log on to Xtube or any other big market, free porn collective and you’re directed to pick your poison. Categories ranging from soft-core to bondage, from blow jobs to role-play fantasy give options for browsers just as one might choose between a Chardonnay or a Bordeaux. We’re all into different stuff, and while most of us stick with more mainstream material, it’s crucial that niche or fetish porn exists as an outlet for desires that may not be sanctioned by the mainstream in real life.

But along with threesomes and amateur porn lie more culturally problematic categories of sexualization. Some of the biggest contributors to porn site hits are from black or Asian porn, displaying either couples of the same race or interracial pairs. While some mainstream studios include people of color in their flicks, it seems like the rule more than the exception that including people of color in your films demarcates you as a sub-genre, a sexual “other” outside of the white majority.

But it’s not merely the subjugation of people of color as a genre of porn that’s problematic. Any cursory search for racial porn, such as one I recently conducted, reveals that stereotypical, racist language is the industry standard for titling movies.

“Two Hot Black Men Get Jiggy and Wild, Robbery Style” is one of the first links that came up during my search. “The Heiress’ Black Slave Boy” contains all the imagery and historically inaccurate portrayals one could easily guess would exist. “Teen Slaves of Saigon,” “Raped By Arab Terrorists,” “Ghetto Gaggers” and “Gang Banged by Blacks” propagate racist notions of ethnicity and difference, yet simultaneously satisfy millions of viewers.

Further, interracial scenes, particularly those including at least one white person, often serve to perpetuate notions of white, neocolonial dominance. “Thug Hunters” is a gay porn site devoted to the practice of white men “wandering the seedy parts” of cities to find black men willing to fellate them for cash.

“We found a thug wandering the rough streets of Miami,” describes one studio’s hunt for a black man, as if he wasn’t a human but a creature in his natural habitat. “We … fed him dreams of money, bitches, stardome (sic) and rap songs sung in his honor and he was like sweet milk chocolate in our hand.”

These men might not have otherwise been able to solicit a blow job without paying for it, but all it took was fulfilling the black man with “the dream of getting off the streets and into the Cash Money Mansion” to get him to comply. Black men are not people but merely “thugs” willing to do anything for cash and a dream. “What can I say?” one porn director concludes, “Some thugs come cheap.”

Yet all of the language and stereotyping that would be unacceptable outside of porn gets the green light because, as people allege, being attracted to people of color is “just a preference,” an infallible right.

Some also defend that porn is not reality, not an adequate barometer of our racial attitudes. But we cannot pretend porn, or the development of sexual attraction, exists in a vacuum. We develop sexual notions of race through a gradual socialization process. Being a “thug hunter” is not built into one’s DNA, but rather is a developed fantasy of dominance. Porn takes cues from centuries of racial subjugation and stereotyping and formulates a product, while creating a cyclical effect in which consumers employ those racial portrayals to inform their own social and sexual attitudes.

“Deep Inside – A Study of 10,000 Porn Stars” (from the Internet Adult Film Database) – WITH OUR ANALYSIS

20130220-115646.jpg

There’s a new “study” of sorts that has recently been done about porn performers — who they are, what they do, and what sort of sex acts are most popular in porn. It isn’t a formal study done by an academic, but is one done by someone interested in pornography, of the data available at a Wikipedia type of site for pornography. (The Internet Adult Film Database.) So the results aren’t exactly scientific, but they are somewhat revealing, and confirm just how depraved the current porn industry has increasingly become over the past few years.

Unsurprisingly, the growing trends are TEENS, anal sex, and infidelity, among others. Check out some of illuminating details below, excerpted from a blog post by the author of the study about the results of the study. We have put the author’s statements in quotes and italics, a few facts from the study summarized by us in regular text, and have added our own commentary and analysis in parentheses after each section,

[JonMillward.com] – “Porn stars of both genders have been progressively retiring earlier: in the ‘70s, men stayed in porn for an average of twelve years, and women for nine. Now men on average quit after four years, and women after three.”

(Gosh. If porn is so FUN, SAFE, LUCRATIVE and “EMPOWERING,” as so many porn performers and porn fans like to say it is, why are both men and women only staying in porn for 1/3 as long as they did in the past?? Maybe it’s because porn ISN’T really safe, fun, or empowering at all, as the sex acts and overall conditions get more and more brutal, which brings us to the next piece of information from the study…)

“Anal sex is an act that gets talked about a lot in ‘real life’. Porn is often blamed for warping men’s minds and making them believe that anal sex is better than vaginal sex, or that all women should do it. So, how does the 62% of female porn stars who do an anal scene at least once stat compare to the non-porn, real life equivalent?

Well, in 1992 a large national survey reported that only 16% of women aged 18–24 had tried anal sex. By 2010, another major survey, published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, reported that the percentage of women who had tried anal by age 24 had risen to 32%, and one third of those had done it within the last month. So anal sex appears to be growing in popularity both in and out of porn—whether there’s a causal relationship there, it’s tough to say.”

(Although we can’t prove it, it’s logical to conclude that the increased prevalence in porn of anal sex has influenced its increased prevalence in real life, because of porn-using men wanting their girlfriends to submit to the same sex acts that they have regularly seen done and glamorized in porn, and that they have regularly masturbated to. There is lots of anecdotal evidence to support this.)

“Women in porn have been doing anal sex sooner over the last few decades though. I noticed that in the 1980s, they waited about two years after getting into the business before they did anal on camera; these days it’s more like six months.”

(This is just one of many confirmations of how porn is getting more hardcore, and more quickly so, in every way. Now that anal is very common in porn and something 62% of all female porn performers do at least once within six months, the porn industry has moved on to even more hardcore and damaging sex acts, such as “fisting,” “double vaginal penetration,” and “double anal penetration”…)

Regarding frequency of female roles in porn, here is the order of the top 6 out of many: (see info graphic at the bottom of this post, and the full blog post by the author at the link for the rest)

1. “TEEN” (1966 video titles)

2. “MILF” (964 titles)

3. “WIFE” (499 titles)

4. “CHEERLEADER” (370 titles)

5. “NURSE” (363 titles)

6. “DAUGHTER” (261 titles)

“It’s nice to see wife coming in third place, too, especially for fans of the institution of marriage. Unfortunately, on further investigation, I discovered that without exception every film title containing the word wife revolved around the concept of a man having sex with a spouse who wasn’t his own. Never mind.”

(Right. Never mind indeed. As we have pointed out elsewhere, pornography glamorizes, encourages and promotes infidelity. The above is just some more evidence to back up this sad fact.)

————————

Note that the author of the study questions the validity of this well-known quote below:

“Most girls who enter the porn industry do one video and quit. The experience is so painful, horrifying, embarrassing, humiliating for them that they never do it again.”

- Luke Ford (former pornography gossip columnist), speaking on CBS News.

The study author questions that statement because it doesn’t match with his informal study results of the unofficial website (IAFD) he based his study on that is maintained by a “handful of international contributors.” (I.e. Some porn fans.) But isn’t it possible that IAFD doesn’t include ALL porn titles, especially some of the NEWEST ones with the LEAST WELL KNOWN performers that don’t have any “fans” yet, because it is their first time? We think that might be possible…

In any case, the study author concedes that it might instead be THREE films that are done before the majority of women quit porn: 53% do 3 films or more, which means that 52% of all female performers (the majority of women in porn) do THREE FILMS OR LESS. This is still not exactly a ringing endorsement for the industry, especially in light of how much porn often pays in the very beginning — for “fresh faces.” So again, we can’t help but ponder…. If pornography is really that awesome, and women just LOOOVE having all that degrading brutal sex on camera, why would so many young women quit so quickly??

Also note that the author quotes another study that has been making the rounds of the media lately, which seems to conclude that women in porn are really super happy and healthy, etc. We contest those study results based on the fact that the only performers interviewed were those currently IN porn, and it’s a well documented fact that many performers don’t tell the truth about their experiences while still in porn. This is often because they need to remain in denial to get through the abuses that they are subjected to, and don’t want to negatively affect their own income by disillusioning their “fans” by telling them that they are really ACTING in their porn films. (And therefore don’t REALLY love all of the degrading, brutal and unsafe sex that they are paid to do.)

After many women LEAVE porn, they then openly admit that they LIED while they were in porn, and were not AT ALL happy and healthy while performing in pornography. (See our compilation of quotes from Jenna Jameson’s biography for a very good example of this: http://www.antipornography.org/Jenna_Jamesons_25_Reasons.html)

In conclusion, as informal and imperfect as this recent study of IAFD is, it is still very interesting and quite informative, so we encourage you to check the author’s blog post about it and the full infographic at the link below.

69 year old porn addict with SIX computers full of XXX pornography took police to court… to get it all BACK

20130218-122111.jpg

PORN ADDICTION INSANITY: A man downloaded porn for 8 HOURS EVERY NIGHT until he got busted for “accidental” child porn, and then had all of his porn taken away by the police. The porn addict is now demanding all of his “adult” porn be returned to him, despite saying:

“After this caper it’s lost its flavor, and I don’t watch as much. I’ve still got around 1,500 images – grannies, trannies, that sort of thing. But I’m nearly 60 years old and I’m getting past it now.”

It seems if that were REALLY the case he wouldn’t be demanding his porn back. In any case, check out the bizarre details of this story below…

[SWNS] — A porn addict found with paedophile images in a massive XXX-rated collection seized by officers in a raid took police to court — in a failed bid to get it all back.

Anthony Gerrard, 59, downloaded so much adult material it would have taken more than a month of non-stop viewing to watch it all.

He also had tens of thousands of photographs – including 11 indecent ones of eight girls and three boys.

Police arrested him three times on suspicion of possessing indecent child photos and seized six PCs and laptops from his home in Knowle, Bristol.

But he escaped prosecution when experts revealed the child images had probably been ‘unwittingly’ downloaded as the adult porn was automatically sent to his computers.

They said they were found on parts of the computers that four-times married Mr Gerrard could not have accessed without specialist tools or techniques.

Police returned two of the computers – but retained those containing the child pornography.

They took Mr Gerrard to court for the forfeiture and destruction of the hard drives they had kept which had a massive 888GB of adult movies and 2.5GB of adult photos.

A district judge found in the police’s favour last July, saying they could not return hard drives containing child porn because they would be distributing illegal material.

Mr. Gerrard – who bought his computers with his benefit money – appealed, claiming they could delete or transfer the child images and return his huge stash of adult porn.

He claimed: “I’m not interested in child porn. I don’t think it’s fair they are keeping my computers when I haven’t done anything illegal.

“I paid £40 for a month’s subscription to a website and I was downloading films from it day and night. I wanted to get my money’s worth.

“They cost me a couple of thousand pounds in total. Every time the police took two computers away, I would buy another two.”

Mr Gerrard, who is estranged from his son, added: “The good thing about having a computer is you can switch it off when you’ve finished – you can’t switch off a wife.”

BDSM Porn Mogul Arrested for Cocaine Possession By Cops Investigating Shooting Range In His Dungeon

20130216-162528.jpg

The head of BDSM torture porn studio Kink(dot)com recently got arrested for cocaine possession. Is anyone surprised? We’re not. Drug use and other substance abuse is rampant in the porn industry, and not only by performers — as verified by many people who have left porn, and even by some people who are still in it. In any case, check out some of the details of this sad and disturbing story below…

[Gawker] — Peter Acworth, CEO of San Francisco fetish-porn giant Kink(dot)com, has made a fortune from BDSM and maintained a surprising respectability while doing it. Just last month brought the Sundance premier of Kink, a James Franco-produced documentary that glorifies Acworth’s sprawling, filthy empire. But now we’ve learned that Acworth was arrested earlier this month for cocaine possession, by police investigating a report that people were shooting firearms inside the company’s Mission District headquarters. Leave it to San Francisco to combine gun culture and S&M.

Acworth, 42, was arrested at 8:24 p.m. on February 1st and charged with one count of cocaine possession and one count of delaying arrest, according to Albie Esparaza, a San Francisco Police Department Public-Information Officer. Police were initially sent to Kink(dot)com’s massive, $14.5 million studio/dungeon in the old San Francisco Armory at 1800 Mission St. after a concerned citizen reported seeing a video online of men firing guns inside the premises, Esparaza said. Joshua Carlberg, 40, was also arrested and charged with delaying arrest.

READ THE REST OF THIS STORY AT THE LINK BELOW, including a press release by Peter Acworth in which he says how “proud” he is of the pornographic torture his studio creates, and how he feels their misogynist “business” (of abusing people for the sexual pleasure of others) is “beneficial” and “contributes” to the local neighborhood and the community of San Francisco…

(And please don’t forget to like, comment on, and share this story to spread the word about the harms of pornography and to support the cause. Thanks! :-) )

Revenge Porn Curators Are Being Sued But Still Defend Their X-Rated Sites and Call Them “Entertainment”

20130211-103340.jpg

READ this story on how NOT sorry the creators of some REVENGE PORN websites are. Make sure to watch the two videos at the bottom of the article at the link. VERY disturbing! But the good news is that at least some of disgusting porn profiteers are being SUED, and a number of helpful journalists like Anderson Cooper are confronting and exposing these criminals for who they really are. (See the second video at the link.) May the women who have been exploited by the greed and cruelty of these men with no conscience receive the justice in court that they deserve!

[NY Daily News] — In some cases, revenge is a dish better served hot.

At least it is for ex-boyfriends and sordid bullies who forward explicit photos of women they’ve received or otherwise found, to “revenge porn” sites.

And the curators of these sites? They couldn’t care less.

“We’re not doing anything, not trying to hurt them, we’re not out for revenge or any sort of malicious thing,” says Colorado Springs’ Craig Brittain, who has got 700 explicit photos on his IsAnybodyDown(dot)com. “If it comes down to it, then yeah… We’re out to make a buck.”

He’s even listed it on his LinkedIn profile.

Brittain got the idea from the site IsAnybodyUp, begun by Hunter Moore, named the “Most Hated Man on the Internet” by Rolling Stone. Moore has sold his revenge porn site, but is planning on launching another soon.

“Why should I care?” Moore told BetaBeat. “It’s not my life. It’s literally just a business. It’s stupid not to monetize it.”

The money-makers sell ads to make dough off the misery of others. Brittain apparently makes about $3,000 every month from advertisements on his site.

Brittain claims that he is protected by the Communications Decency Act, a law that exempts him from liability as long as his content is submitted by other people, CBS4 reports.

“I call it entertainment,” Brittain told CBS4.

Tell that to the women who find their private ‘naughty photos’ going viral on the web.

“Children and the Culture of Pornography: ‘Boys will ask you every day until you say yes’”

20130208-090122.jpg

Check out this ALARMING article on the horrific & sometimes DEADLY effects our PORNIFIED culture is having on teens — especially girls!

[The Telegraph] — There is a storm coming. I can feel it as I stand on a street corner in south London, thinking about my daughters. Lily and Rose are both 11 years old. One is crazy about dogs, the other loves owls.

They are at that tender age when the hormones have begun to stir, and they could be stomping around the room like furious teenagers one minute but snuggling up for a cuddle the next.

The girls are fast approaching 13, the age that Chevonea Kendall-Bryan was when she leaned out of one of the windows on the fourth floor of a block of flats on this street. A boy she knew was down here on the ground, but this was not Romeo and Juliet. Far from it.

Chevonea had been pressurised into performing a sex act on him, and he had shared a phone clip of her doing so with all his mates. She threatened to jump from the window if he did not delete it. Then she slipped and fell 60 feet to the ground, dying from massive brain injuries.

Her mother says she will now campaign against what is happening to young girls in our society. They are certainly under extreme pressure, having to cope with a world more brutal, more demanding and far more overtly sexual than anything their parents knew.

“Never before has girlhood been under such a sustained assault – from ads, alcohol marketing, girls’ magazines, sexually explicit TV programmes and the hard pornography that is regularly accessed in so many teenager’s bedrooms,” says the psychologist Steve Biddulph, currently touring the country to promote a book called Raising Girls.

It is a follow-up to his best-seller Raising Boys – and they are under pressure too, being led to believe that girls will look and behave like porn stars. Our children are becoming victims of pornification.

“It is usually girls who are on the receiving end of some pretty degrading stuff,” says Claire Perry MP, who has just been appointed David Cameron’s special adviser on the commercialisation and sexualisation of childhood. “We’ve got young girls being asked to write their names on their boobs and send pictures. Parents would be really shocked to know this is happening in pretty much every school in the country. Our children are growing up in a very sexualised world.”

So this is the storm my girls will soon face. I can already hear the rumblings. For their sake, I want to know, how bad is it? How widespread? I ask to speak to Mrs Perry, and while I’m waiting for the call back I read a report by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, which suggests it is very bad indeed. Researchers who carried out an in-depth study of the lives of pupils at two London schools in 2010 say that year eight was when they began to feel confused and overwhelmed by sexual expectations and demands.

Claire, who must be 12 or 13, is quoted as saying of the boys in her class: “If they want oral sex, they will ask every single day until you say yes.”

Kamal, a boy in the same year, says: “Say I got a girlfriend, I would ask her to write my name on her breast and then send it to me and then I would upload it on to Facebook or Bebo or something like that.” The profile picture on his phone, seen by everyone to whom he sends messages, is an image of his girlfriend’s cleavage. Some of the boys at his school have explicit images of up to 30 different girls on their phone. They swap them like we used to swap football cards. If they fancy a girl, they send her a picture of their genitals. As one teenage girl said after the report came out, sending pictures of your body parts is “the new flirting”.

Boys have always tried their luck, but now they have the technological means to apply pressure, on phones with cameras and messenger networks that no adult ever sees.

Chloe Combi, a former teacher who began her career in “a pretty posh school”, has written in the Times Educational Supplement about when it goes further: “The hardest conversation I’ve ever had was with a distraught, confused man of about 45. I had to explain to him that we had to exclude from school his seemingly non-abused, non-disturbed, well-loved daughter because she had been caught administering fellatio to a line of young men in the boys’ toilets for cash.”

Ms Combi went on: “A friend of mine, who teaches at another school (much more posh than mine) said that it had got so bad they had to go on patrol every lunchtime to prevent similar incidents.”

What is the cause of all this? We need more research, the experts say. But to a dismayed parent, it seems like the horrific result of a massive experiment. Thanks to the internet, our boys and girls are the first children to grow up with free, round-the-clock access to hardcore pornography. Porn has become part of the adult mainstream, colouring everything from advertising to best-selling books like Fifty Shades of Grey. Of course our children are affected.

“TEEN PORN: The Risky New Trend For a Fame-Seeking Generation” — (Home-made pornography created and distributed BY teens OF teens)

20130206-140433.jpg

MUST-READ! Check out this very powerful and informative article about TEENS making PORNOGRAPHY of OTHER TEENS to gain FAME — which is apparently the NUMBER ONE most important goal among teenagers today.

Wow! This explains A LOT about why the porn industry is attracting so many teen girls. The teen girls can become instant “stars,” gain instant “fans,” and be signing autographs at porn conventions in no time! Unfortunately they have to completely degrade and humiliate themselves to accomplish this shallow and meaningless fame, not to mention risk their health and entire future. ~ In any case, please read this very important article below, and please don’t forget to LIKE AND SHARE. Thanks! :-)

[Bloomberg News, via voxxi.com] — We got freaked out by kids sexting. We were shocked when some high school football players ordered prostitutes with their smartphones. And now, some ambitious members of Generation Text have taken the sex/technology nexus to a new low by producing and distributing teen porn in Northern Virginia.

Police locked up three boys — two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old — from West Springfield High School last month for their alleged attempts at becoming the Mitchell Brothers 2.0 — porn kings of the burbs.

The boys made the sex videos with at least six teenage girls from their own school and two neighboring high schools. The boys, all sophomores, have been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

This is a story about teen sex and underage drinking. As every parent knows, these have long been part of the perils of adolescence. But the twist here is the camera lens. Or, more likely, the cellphone lens.

It’s a whole new level of degradation and compromised values when videotaping and distribution via send button are factored in.

This is the generation that has been born, fed, diapered and directed on camera. While my generation’s childhood memories come down to a shelf of photo albums or a cardboard box of faded Polaroids, Generation Y has been documented since birth with thousands upon thousands of digital images. They are the real, live “Truman Show.”

And growing up in front of a camera has planted the seeds of some seriously scary consequences.

PORN — REFLECTION OF YOUTH’S POOR EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT?

What do you think kids want most in life today? Money? Marriage? Adventure? A cool job? Spiritual fulfillment? Nope.

“Quantitative analysis revealed that fame was the number one value, selected as the most important value for participants’ future goals,” according to a study done by psychology professors at the University of California at Los Angeles.

In other words, what kids want most is to be as famous as Beyonce or Justin Bieber, even if they can’t sing.

According to a similar UCLA study, the top five values emphasized in television shows popular with children in 2007 were fame, achievement, popularity, image and financial success.

In 1997, the top five were community feeling, benevolence (being kind and helping others), image, tradition and self-acceptance. In 2007, benevolence dropped to the 12th spot and community feeling fell to 11th.

This is echoed in studies done by psychologists and pollsters across the country.

It can be summed up in that Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl commercial, where geeky boy makes the cover of Vanity Fair, gets a date with Kate Upton, is mobbed by screaming fans and pursued by paparazzi, all because he drove that car. Fame — that’s all anyone wants, right?

And what better way for boys to get famous on campus than by making sex tapes?

This is, after all, the Look At Me Generation. They grew up on Facebook and Twitter, far more hip to the potential of social networks and ablaze on them long before their parents could even figure out how to rotate their profile pictures so they weren’t perpetually headstanding.

We had “Three’s Company,” they had “Survivor.” Our parents watched “Beverly Hillbillies,” Generation Texters had “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Swamp People, Gypsy Sisters, Honey Boo Boo — it’s a nation of ordinary people who can get famous with no talent, no skill, no achievement. All it takes is exposure — the more the better, apparently.

Exhibit A of this ethos is Snooki. Her own father is flummoxed by her fame. At one of his daughter’s events, Andy Polizzi said he wanted to ask her fans: ‘ What is it that draws you to my daughter? Be honest.’ Because it’s very hard for me to see what it is. She don’t sing. She don’t dance. I don’t want to say she don’t have talent,” he told the New York Times in a 2010 interview.

Add the hunger for fame at any price to another trend new to this generation — the widespread and rampant availability of online porn — and it’s a wonder more kids aren’t making sex tapes. Or maybe they are, and we just don’t know about it.

For parents — who may have thought that talks with their kids and a good Net Nanny on the home computer is enough — controlling the flow of online porn on phones, tablets or laptops is daunting.

The Junior Pornographers made an impact. It appears they are famous, in their minuscule world.

“Pretty epic. These kids will be legendary at West Springfield for years to come,” a commenter with the handle “Jesus Phreak” wrote on the raw and sometimes nasty Fairfax Underground, a Web site with forums that make The Washington Post’s comments section look like civil discourse.

The forum dissecting the porn arrests was on fire last week. Someone identified as “durden” made a pretty astute observation about the social media life of high-schoolers today and what it means.

“Twitter is necessary to fit in and thus have at least some sense of being important/famous even if only with a circle of losers,” durden wrote. “If you aren’t important you aren’t alive. Everyone trades giving others attention to get some in return. It’s a big circle of trade to not sink into obscurity. Normal life is no life at all in today’s value system. What we are seeing today is going to be tame come 10 yrs from now.”

As far as the girls go?

This one doesn’t change with time. The boys might become micro-famous for a while. But for the girls, infamy is all that awaits them.

— Regarding the infamy noted above for the girls who’ve had porn made of them, so true! And so sad. Hopefully articles like this will help educate their parents who will influence them in a positive way to not EVER do porn under any circumstances!

So, do any of you know of any teens who have made porn of other teens, in order to achieve fame and status? Or who have allowed porn to be made of them and distributed? If so please let us know in the comments. Thanks! :-)

POSTS BY OTHERS on AntiPornography.org’s Facebook Page, with many interviews on the harms of pornography, prostitution and sex trafficking

20130206-113347.jpg

During Human Trafficking Awareness Month in January @RuthFJacobs posted 39 interviews on porn, prostitution & trafficking harms on our Facebook page. There is a lot of great information and inspiration in these interviews of a wide variety of activists and survivors, so we encourage you to check them all out in the “Posts by Others” section of our page accessible from the drop down menu under our large cover photo that a says “Highlights,” or by clicking the below link:

https://www.facebook.com/ENDSexploitation?ref=hl&filter=2

One particularly thought-provoking interview was with activist Winnie Small:

“Winnie Small, a radical feminist, abolitionist, and ally to victims of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation… explains how pornography plays into other forms of prostitution, the affect the internet has had on this, how, within a capitalist patriarchy, ‘choice’ and ‘freedom’ don’t always mean choice and freedom for women, particularly indigenous women and women of colour, and she discusses the Nordic model, and the current law which she describes as offering no reasonable assurance of protection “where money and men’s boners collide.””

So we encourage you to check out that interview above and all of the other ones! And please share them with others! Thanks! :-)

NOTE: Our usual disclaimer for all content that we post ourselves also applies to all content posted by others. That is, we may or may not not agree with everything included in the references linked to, but we encourage people to examine everything fairly and thoughtfully themselves, to take what makes sense to them and that they find useful, and to leave the rest behind. Porn as Misogynistic Ritual — “that keeps women in their place on the ladder of being”

20130204-094529.jpg 20130204-093530.jpg

Here’s a great post by our friend Panthea: All Things Are Goddess (@theanism) which describes the MISOGYNY in pornography, as referenced in the book “An Unnatural Order,” by Jim Mason:

[Post excerpts] — Jim Mason: “Misogyny is kept alive and well these days but pornography is the most obvious. Pornography is a ritual. It is one of the chief rituals of patriarchal control because it is so effective in teaching (and reaffirming) misogyny and a male-centered view of sex roles. We have touched on this before so we can brief here. Susan Griffin puts it best: “For above all, pornography is ritual. It is an enacted drama that is laden with meaning, which imparts of vision of the world. The altar for the ritual is a woman’s body. And the ritual which is carried out on this altar is the desecration of the flesh. Here, what is sacred within the body is degraded.” …

The chief purpose of pornography is to destroy the possibilities that femaleness can be seen with dignity, that femaleness can be power, that it has important status. Pornography reduces femaleness to erotic tidbits, to things for male sexual pleasure, to dismembered body parts. Pornography dismantles female wholeness, which is female being, identity, and self-esteem – the collective power of which would threaten the shape of the patriarchal order. Pornography, to put it bluntly, is the ritual that keeps women in their place on the ladder of being.”

- An Unnatural Order by Jim Mason, page 267

[Panthea commentary] — Once upon a time I would’ve bought into the whole “porn is empowering” idea. I was essentially brainwashed to try to fit in with men or be dismissed as stupid and not worth listening to. I didn’t realize it then, but I was seeing myself through a pornographic lens – that I was somehow empowering myself by being seen as merely a means to a sexual end. I had no idea that I shouldn’t be seen as just the sum of my parts. I suppose as a young girl, male attention does make you feel powerful. At first. But when you wake up and realize just how much they don’t care about you, you’re left feeling utterly worthless and used.

It’s been said that the “urges” that drive people to view pornography are naturally built into us in order to want to proliferate the species. By that rationale, porn serves some sort of natural purpose. But porn has nothing to do with procreation. And our urges are meant to do something much grander than make more people. They are meant to bring us together as individuals – to become one thing by participating in one of the most glorious things humans can experience together. We are meant to come together, bond, and love deeply. Because what’s the point of making more people if we’re not bringing them into the most complete and loving environment possible? Porn only drives a wedge between us, feeds loneliness, and keeps us from experiencing true intimacy with another human. So porn is not natural. Making love to another person is natural. So let’s stop making excuses for generations of poor social conditioning and give both genders the opportunity to become whole and happy.
