Lawyer @MarcoRandazza Goes To War Against #RevengePorn Site Over ‘Takedown Lawyer’ Business Model

Read this disturbing story on how one man is unethically profiting off of “revenge #porn” – by extorting the victims. Please note that the most common victims of this scam are people who allowed someone like their ex boyfriend or girlfriend to take naked photos of them. (Or who took the photos themselves and shared them privately with their partner.)

So the takeaway lesson of this story is… Unless you’re willing to risk naked pictures of yourself showing up at a “revenge porn” site, which will then require that you pay to get them removed, then it might be best to not ever allow your partner to take such photos of you, or to take any such photos yourself! Just something to consider…

[TechDirt] Well, well. Last year, there was a lot of attention paid to a so-called “revenge porn” site called “Is Anyone Up”? The site reposted submitted nude photos, linked to the person in the photo’s social networking accounts. The “idea” (a horrific one) was that spurned people, who had naked photos of their ex’s, could publicize them. Not surprisingly, many people were completely horrified by the concept and the media coverage was not kind. The site eventually went down, but others popped up to take their place.

Lawyer Marc Randazza has decided to go to war with one of them, which uses the very similar name “Is Anybody Down” (and, no, I’m not linking to it). Randazza points out that he has no problem with porn or porn sites, but when the participants are not consenting (and not necessarily adults) he has serious problems.

However, his main issue with this other site is in what he believes to be its sneaky business model. There is apparently an “advertisement” on the site for a “lawyer” named David Blade, who will help you get your photos off the site for $250. Randazza argues that it’s really the site’s own business model. Here’s their business plan:

Step one: Register the domain name “isanybodydown(dot)com”

Step two: Get ahold of nude photos of people who never consented to having their photos published.

Step three: Publish them, along with their names, home towns, and links to their facebook profiles.

So now how do you “profit?”

Well, openly saying “I’ll take down the photo for $250,” would probably create some legal issues for you. So, instead, you create a fake lawyer persona and say “I am an internet lawyer, named David Blade, III, and I’ll get your pics down for $250.”

The “ad” goes on at length about how successful “David Blade” is in removing images from the site, and how it’s much cheaper than going to any other lawyer. Blade has his own website, called TakedownLawyer(dot)com. Randazza has a few damning facts. The registration info for both sites… are by the same person. The “ad” by “Blade” insists that they’re different people, with Blade claiming to merely be a college friend of the operator of the site — and someone who disapproves of the site.

“Blade” claims that as he’s tried to convince the operator of the site to take it down, their “compromise” is that the site owner has allowed him to place that “ad” that just so happens to help “Blade” make money any time someone wants their images down from the site. The other bit of damning evidence? There is no record of a David Blade as a registered NY attorney (where he claims to operate). Oops.

Japan’s child porn addiction – Related crimes up 5x in last decade

[Independent] It was a shocking find: crudely made DVDs with images of grown men having sex with children as young as 12. Until this year, the men who bought those images faced little more than a slap on the wrist. But police in Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital, decided for the first time during the summer to pursue criminal charges against three male customers in a country widely seen as much too lenient on child pornography.

The police campaign is largely the work of Kyoto’s prefectural Governor, Keiji Yamada. During his fight for office two years ago, Mr Yamada pledged to roll out an ordinance banning the buying and possession of child porn – still legal under Japanese law, unless there is proven intent to sell or distribute. Even if the makers are arrested, the images circulate for years on the internet and in secondary markets.

Child porn-related crimes have grown fivefold in Japan through the last decade, according to the country’s National Police Agency. At least 600 children a year fall victim to paedophile directors and photographers. “The internet is probably the biggest factor,” said Akira Koga, spokesman for the Kyoto Police. “It’s very difficult to monitor and control.” A new police cyber patrol uncovered the trail back to the three men from the DVD producer in Tokyo.

Japan has long been considered a hub for the production and possession of paedophile images. It is the only OECD (Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development) nation that has not banned possession of child porn, partly to protect its manga and anime industries, which churn out thousands of titles every year that sail close to the legal wind. A government survey in 2002 found that 10 per cent of Japanese men admitted to owning child porn at some stage.

Bookstores and convenience stores across the country stock magazines carrying semi-naked pictures of pubescent and pre-pubescent children. Many underage girls have built careers as so-called “junior idols”, posing in suggestive poses. In the electronics district of Akihabara, Tokyo’s capital of geeky cool, tourists gawk at cartoon images of children in various stages of sexual distress, all perfectly legal. One of the nation’s most popular pop groups, AKB48, features a revolving cast of members, some as young as 13, persuaded to pout in adult lingerie for videos and magazine covers.

The UK-based Internet Watch Foundation traced nearly 16,250 websites depicting child abuse back to Japan in 2006, enough to put it third on a global watch list. In 2009, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection placed Japan fourth among the top five countries hosting websites with child abuse images, according to ECPAT International, an NGO that fights to end the commercial exploitation of children.

Campaigners engaged in a cat-mouse-game with paedophiles across the world say a new approach is long overdue. “The US is very frustrated with Japan,” says Jake Adelstein, a journalist and board member with the Polaris Project Japan, a non-profit organisation that combats human trafficking and sexual exploitation. “The FBI and Homeland Security Investigations give Japan’s police hundreds of tips on child pornography makers and distributors every year and none of them are acted upon.”

Exclusive: #JessicaRidgeway murder suspect #AustinSigg treated for #pornographyaddiction

#PORN USE & VIOLENT CRIME: #JessicaRidgeway’s 17yr old murderer had been treated for severe #pornaddiction at age 15. ~~ For those of you not familiar with this horrific story which has been all over the news the past few days, Austin Sigg abducted, killed and dismembered 10 year old Jessica on Oct. 5th, three blocks away from her home while she was walking to school. He later confessed to his mother who called the police. Austin was in court today for his first appearance.

[KDVR] Fox31 Denver is digging into the history of 17-year-old Austin Sigg. He’s in custody and faces charges for the murder and kidnapping of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway in Westminster.

Senior investigative reporter Josh Bernstein confirmed that the teenager had been treated for an addiction to pornography.

Bernstein reports family members say he was just 15 years old and his addiction was so strong that it required counseling.

Additionally, we learned he left the mainland of the United States shortly after an alleged attempted abduction at Ketner Lake on Memorial Day Weekend.

Sigg also faces charges related to that incident.

Investigators say the teen attacked a 22-year-old female jogger. She told police a man grabbed her from behind and shoved a chemical-soaked rag over her mouth. She was able to escape from the attacker.

After the Ketner Lake incident, Sigg and his family went on vacation in the U.S. Virgin Islands. They stayed at a luxury resort.

Man behind "Rape Jokes" "Pics of Dead Kids" & "Jailbait" porn posts of teens, is exposed, loses job

VIDEO: "Apology" by creator of Reddit sites "Rapebait," "Incest," "Pics of Dead Kids" "Choke a Bitch" & "Rape Jokes" -- Very disturbing! But on the bright side, at least he did get caught, exposed, and lose his job. Perhaps this will serve as a cautionary tale for other sick women-hating Internet trolls who like to post pornographic and exploitative photos of women and children to get their kicks.

(CNN) -- An internet troll reviled for his pornographic posts on Reddit and recently revealed as a middle-aged software programmer told CNN that he made "a huge mistake."

For years, 49-year-old Michael Brutsch hid behind the online screen name "Violentacrez," creating hundreds of subforums on the user-generated website, such as "Rapebait," "Incest," "Pics of Dead Kids," "Choke a Bitch," and "Rape Jokes." "Violentacrez" has been banned from the site several times, although Brutsch still maintains a separate account.

Last week, Gawker revealed the identity of "Violentacrez," whose posts generated as many as 800,000 subscribers and triggered a debate about whether Reddit was criminally liable for the content of its forums. Reddit is a website where the popularity of posts -- and whether they are featured prominently on the site's main page -- is determined by registered users' votes.

Days after the Gawker article, Brutsch agreed to talk exclusively to CNN on camera at a hotel room in Fort Worth, about six miles from his home. He said his employer fired him after the Gawker article. He had worked there for seven years.

"One of the problems that came around and bit me in the ass was that I didn't really think about what I was doing," Brutsch told CNN. "And I didn't listen to people when they said, 'You really shouldn't do this.'"

Brutsch -- who is married, with a stepdaughter as well as a son and a stepson who are both in the U.S. military -- told CNN he started out posting "mostly soft-core porn," such as "pictures of naked girls, that sort of thing."

"And as I'd find porn of different types, like if it was a picture of an African-American woman, I created a Reddit called 'Women of Color,'" Brutsch said. "If it was, you know, a woman with large breasts, I created a Reddit called 'Boobies.'"

Years ago, Brutsch created his most infamous Reddit forum called "Jailbait" -- images of teenage girls posted without their or their families' consent. He said it became so popular, drawing hundreds of thousands of page views, that Reddit gave him an award -- a gold-plated bobblehead doll "for making significant contributions to the site."

In an email to CNN, Reddit said Brutsch had won a community vote for "Worst Subreddit" and Reddit now "regrets having sent the trophy." Reddit also said it banned Brutsch's "Violentacrez" account several times since last year, adding that it "regret(s) not taking stronger action sooner."

Looking back, Brutsch said his actions "were a huge mistake." He claimed he was addicted to Reddit and could not stop himself. The biggest thrill Brutsch said he got "was those meaningless Internet points," earned when "Redditors" voted for his posts.

Now that he's lost his job, Brutsch told CNN he was sorry -- but he didn't say exactly what he was apologizing for.

"Well, I am to some degree apologizing for what I did," Brutsch said. "Again, I was playing to an audience of college kids. And you know, when two years ago, when all of this was at its height, the audience was appreciative and supportive of the sort of gallows humor that I put out there."

Condoms in Porn: One Adult Star Says Yes to Measure B

Porn star @MissAuroraSnow describes how UNSAFE porn often is, and thus why she’s in favor of condoms and says @YESOnB!

[The Daily Beast] [Excerpt] The porn industry has campaigned against Measure B, the L.A. County ballot initiative that would require performers to use condoms. But porn star Aurora Snow says it’s necessary.

Aurora Snow: I would prefer to have both condoms and testing in porn. It doesn’t have to be one or the other; it makes sense to have both. This is not what a girl in the industry is supposed to say, but it is what a lot of us think when quietly eyeing Los Angeles County’s ballot initiative—known as Measure B—mandating condoms in adult films.

Safety isn’t sexy. Wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle makes me feel like a dork, but I do it because I know what’s at risk if I don’t. No one feels or looks sexy wearing a safety hat or knee pads. That’s what the condom is for the porn industry, it’s our safety hat.

No one wants to wear the safety hat, it’s uncomfortable, it doesn’t look pretty and it may make the day longer. Condoms are known to rip. Who knows how many condoms one scene will take. If it’s a three guys-on-one-girl scene and the condoms keep ripping it could go from a two-hour scene to a four-hour scene. Only one porn company that I know of is and always has been all condoms: Wicked. They have been doing what other companies fear: selling safe sex.

I have done the majority of my six-hundred scenes without condoms, but I predominately use condoms in my personal life. In real life, I ask that my partners both wear condoms and get tested. Yet when I go to work I follow the standard procedure of working without a condom and taking my fellow actor’s most recent test at face value.

Every month when I get tested, I wonder if I’ll have to come home to my guy and say, “Please don’t be mad at me, but we have to go see a doctor because you might have been exposed.” Because even though I primarily use condoms in my personal life, like most people I know, I don’t use them with oral sex. While it’s not as easy to catch something through oral, the possibility remains, and due to the nature of my work the risk is high. Luckily, most STDs that float around the world of porn—most often referred to as the “industry flu”—can be cured with a single shot of antibiotics. Because these STDs are so easy to get rid of, most performers have a certain level of comfort with them. It’s almost common. There are other not-so-easily cured STDs that aren’t tested for in the adult business. We test monthly for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and the big one, HIV. There are zero requirements to be tested for anything else, but there are other risk factors, such as herpes, HPV, and syphilis. Thanks in part to the recent syphilis outbreak, there may now be a standard monthly syphilis test.

When I heard about the syphilis outbreak, my first feeling was one of relief. For the first time ever, I was so removed from the Los Angeles porn scene that I didn’t have to check my calendar and start calling every partner I’d had in the last two weeks to see whether I was at risk. There have been several HIV scares when I had to make those phone calls and figure out for myself how close I was to patient zero. There are no groups within porn protecting performers; it’s always been up to performers to keep track of their scene partners, to check tests for themselves, and to make those phone calls no one wants to make.

It isn’t safe to rely on someone else to keep me safe on set. I showed up one day with a fresh test, still a newbie to porn and very trusting. What happened? The other girl in our scene couldn’t seem to “find” her test. She was a big star at that time, and she was an exclusive performer for this company. The director did his best to persuade me and the male performer to work with this prized performer despite her lack of a test. When we both refused, he yelled at us, but didn’t fire us. That could have happened. Instead, we shot the scene without the untested girl. That was the first time I understood porn directors aren’t looking out for me, so I have to.

That’s right, Aurora, porn directors are NOT looking out for you — or any other performer for that matter, which is just one of the reasons why the porn industry is unsafe and corrupt, and why Measure B needs to not only be PASSED, but vigorously ENFORCED! (And it’s also why anyone who values their health, well-being and future should NOT enter into the “adult” film industry!)

They contend that pornography provides validation for unhealthy (sometimes referred to as “alternative”) views on sexuality and deny that the material itself creates those perceptions. There have been several research studies to substantiate these positions. Some producers of sexually explicit material are quick to site these studies as a defense for accusations or allegations made against their industry. Regardless of these positions, newspaper columnist James Kilpatrick writes: “Common sense is a better guide than laboratory experiments; and common sense tells us pornography is bound to contribute to sexual crime. . . . It seems ludicrous to argue ‘bad’ books do not promote bad behavior” (Kilpatrick, 1975).

As part of my experience working with incarcerated sex offenders, I listened to countless disclosures of inmates describing their heinous sexual assaults on victims. During these therapy sessions, it is not uncommon to hear an inmate indicate that part of the reason for their sexual deviance was due to consumption of pornography which influenced the way they behaved. This response from a prisoner in a sex offender treatment program is unacceptable because such disclosures attempt to minimize responsibility for behavior by shifting the blame. If someone can successfully avoid or reduce the amount of blame they must accept for their actions, then the accountability for their behavior is also reduced. This tactic ultimately attempts to manipulate the consequences one must suffer for their own wrongdoings.

As an illustration, one inmate attempted to convince a group of his peers that he had never considered molesting his child until he saw similar sex acts normalized in child pornography. Although this may be true, the focus must remain on the individual and his behavior, not the pornography. Part of his behavior resulted from his distorted interpretation of what he saw depicted in the child pornography. Why was he not repulsed by these images when initially exposed? Are we to believe he stumbled across these pictures by accident on the Internet? In his case, there appeared to be some pre-existing pathology and deviant arousal that drew him to these images while someone else would have been mortified and avoided exposure to the same material.

One research study analyzed the various arguments and data presented by other studies that contended the lack of reliable connections between pornography and aggressive sexual behavior. The study concluded that, in fact, there was existence of reliable associations between frequent pornography use and sexually aggressive behaviors, particularly for violent pornography and/or for men at high risk for sexual aggression (Malamuth, Neil et. al., 2000).

Another study collected from 100 survivors at a rape crisis center discovered that 28% of respondents reported that their abuser used pornography and that for 12% of the women, pornography was imitated during the abusive incident (Bergen, Raquel Kennedy, 2000).

In spite of these findings, others persist in their contention that there is little correlation between pornography use and causation of sexual deviant behavior. In part, they cite as evidence that, although many sex offenders do use pornography, there are just as many others who consume pornography who do not engage in sex crimes.

Regardless of your position, my experience indicates the majority of sex offenders have pornography consumption as an associated behavior. It is imperative that these individuals maintain abstinence from pornography as part of their effort to minimize possible risk factors for re-offending. But what about everyone else?

Consider the fraudulent message pornography teaches about healthy human intimacy. It portrays both women and men as objects with insatiable sexual appetites. Sexual relations with multiple partners are presented as normal and healthy, while monogamous relationships are depicted as cumbersome and undesirable. Distorted views of perverted sex acts are presented as exciting and acceptable, and in many instances, the viewer is exposed to otherwise unimaginable ideas about sexuality that they themselves would never have considered. These same acts are normalized by desensitizing the viewer after numerous exposures to the material. Other aspects of sexual intimacy, such as communication and tender affection, are usually omitted from pornography while consequences of promiscuous sexual behavior such as STDs and unwanted pregnancies are minimized. Surely, these ideas cannot be considered healthy. And yet, that is what many producers of pornography would have us believe.

Oakland children's clinic celebrates Governor Brown signing anti-trafficking bill to remove "branding" tattoos of juvenile sex trafficking victims

Great news for some exploited & abused women & girls who really need it! Law approved to remove “branding tattoos” done by pimps & sex traffickers:

[Examiner] Just two days after Stacy Katz, Executive Director for Oakland’s WestCoast Children’s Clinic (WCC), urged Governor Brown to sign AB 1956 into law, the Office of Governor announced on Sept. 29 that he did. AB 1956, Tattoo Removal for Juvenile Victims, will expand existing tattoo removal services provided to rehabilitated former gang members to include sex trafficking victims who were tattooed as a form of “branding” by their exploiters.

In her op-ed article in The Bay Citizen last week, Katz reported, “Sex trafficking has become such big business around the globe that pimps are tattooing young women to brand them as their property.” WCC is a nonprofit children’s psychology clinic that has been serving child victims of trauma for over 25 years.

WCC’s clients include over 100 Bay Area victims of commercial child sexual exploitation, which is one form of human trafficking according to the Federal Trafficking Victims Protection Act. “Removing tattoos of sex-trafficked young women is a first step toward their recovery,” Katz wrote.

Polaris Project, a leading non-profit organization in Washington, D.C., that fights human trafficking, appealed to California citizens in April to encourage their state legislators to support AB 1956. Polaris Project Policy Counsel James Dold, J.D., referred to a Los Angeles case of an alleged sex trafficker accused of forcibly tattooing his street name onto one of his minor victims to identify her as his property.

In the blog entitled “A Permanent Evil,” Dold wrote, “Even after escaping their trafficking situations, these victims are forced to view this constant and permanent physical reminder of the tragedies that they were forced to endure at the hands of evil men.”

While advocating for the passage of AB 1956, which Dold said was the “first of its kind,” he wrote, “If it becomes law, survivors of this form of modern-day slavery will no longer have to live with the constant reminder of their tragic past.”

How to use Wikipedia to promote your business: tit torture edition | Wikipediocracy

READ this scary post on @Wikipedia “Tit torture” promotion, by @Wikipedia_Forum via Stop pornography on Wikipedia. It describes how a “tit torture” enthusiast with his own pornographic website celebrating his “passion” uses Wikipedia to promote his website and how he posts porn at his Wikipedia articles. Very disturbing!

[Excerpt] Nicholson also provided a link to his Darker Pleasures website, thus promoting his how-to guide, The Breast Punishment Primer. He then went on to spread the joy in the article on BDSM.

But Nicholson had greater ambitions: in order to really make paying customers flock to his website, he set out to create a shiny new article of the kind that Wikipedia’s male-dominated editorship seemingly can never have enough of. Nicholson’s original version of the “tit torture” article contained two links to his website. He added a third one shortly afterwards, and another one two weeks after that. The language used in the opening paragraph betrays Nicholson’s heartfelt respect for women.

Quote: “Tit torture refers to any of several erotic BDSM activities focusing solely on inflicting pain on the female breast and/or nipples for sexual gratification. Breast-oriented BDSM activities range from relatively safe and benign, such as the use of clothespins on the nipples, light flagellation, or simple breast bondage to activities that can include great risk, such as more severe caning, amateur piercing, or being suspended by the breasts.” To his credit, Nicholson rewrote parts of the article the next day and added advice on how to keep this torturous activity “safe” for the female partner.” [End of excerpt]

Pa. man gets 20 years in teen sexting extortion – The Sacramento Bee

READ this horrific story: A suicidal young woman was sadistically extorted to send sexual photos to a male relative. He also extorted sexual photos from her female TEEN friends via a FAKE FACEBOOK PROFILE! Beware and be safe, everyone!

[The Associated Press] — A Pittsburgh-area man will spend 20 years in federal prison on child pornography charges for sexting images he extorted from teens by using a young female relative’s cell phone and Facebook identity.

The attorney for 44-year-old Russell Freed, of Brentwood, argued for leniency Monday. But a federal judge agreed with prosecutors that Freed’s means of collecting the images was especially sadistic.

Prosecutors said Fred contacted teen girls who were listed as contacts on his 21-year-old relative’s discarded cell phone. Eventually, Freed extorted sexual pictures of the relative – even after she threatened suicide and confided about the extortion to him, not realizing he was behind it.

Freed told the judge, “I understand what I put them through. I’m ashamed and I’m sorry.”

But prosecutor Craig Haller argued “the element of sadism can’t be overlooked in this case.”

No more pornography at Yakima Valley Libraries

Good news! Concerned parents demanded no more porn access in their local libraries, and filters got installed! Read about their success below and then check out the link below that to learn more, including how you can help with this effort. Thanks!

YAKIMA, Wash.– Its been an ongoing issue for many Yakima Valley Libraries, people going in to use the public computers, only to look at pornography.

It’s something that has both patrons and parents concerned, but a new change could help solve the problem.

Up until Wednesday, people who went in to use the computers at any Yakima Valley Library were able to visit pornographic website’s.

The library’s policy had been in place since the 90′s and gave people the option of using filters or not, but after an incident involving a man last month library Director, Kim Hixson says parents came forward demanding a change.

“Parents were concerned that their children might be exposed to inadvertent viewing or adult content, so they wrote to the trustee’s,” said Hixson.

The library will now use a program to help filter out inappropriate websites for all users.

Hixson says a recent U.S. District Court ruling gave them the ability to be more restrictive, but she does say that although they can keep a watchful eye out on what is viewed, they can’t control what people do when they’re inside the library.

Ten years ago, total daily adult-site traffic averaged less than 1 million unique visitors—on the entire Internet; today Manwin’s tube sites alone get 42 million daily uniques. “I personally have one or two memberships,” Antoon says jovially, “and I still go to the tubes. I get my appetizer on the tubes, my main course on one of the sites.”"

[Daily Mail - UK] -- Irene Lawless, 67, was put through an 'horrific' ordeal by evil loner Darren Jackson who spent his days watching internet porn.

Police found Jackson, 26, had been searching internet websites for 'mature women', and 'women raped while asleep', the court heard today.

One film Jackson watched involved a mature woman being raped by a burglar.

Jackson broke into Mrs Lawless’s bungalow in the early hours of the morning and attacked her while she slept.

He raped her twice then strangled her, leaving her naked body wedged between the bed and a wall.

Jackson was today jailed for life with a recommendation he is not considered for parole for 28 years.

Prosecutor Elwen Evans said: 'Jackson had spent the previous night in a nearby town in local pubs.

'He was picked up by his stepfather at 4.30am and brought back to the house where he was living next door to Mrs Lawless.

'Sometime after 5am Jackson broke into Irene’s home by climbing through an open window.

'He made his way into the front bedroom where Irene was sleeping. Her dentures were in solution beside her bed.

'In her bedroom he seriously physically and sexually assaulted her.'

Swansea Crown court heard the peaceful, thoughtful artist suffered 20 fractures to her ribs during the double rape attack in the quiet village of Llanllwni, near Llandovery, Carmarthenshire.

Miss Evans said: 'Jackson then killed her by manual strangulation and left her naked body on her bedroom floor.'

After emptying the handbag he dumped it in a neighbour’s plant pot and drove Mrs Lawless’s black Audi A3 to Deal, kent where he has friends.

The court was shown CCTV of Jackson 'calmly' buying petrol just 20 minutes away from the brutal attack on 22 January 2012.

He was arrested just 5 hours and 50 minutes after neighbours discovered the grandmother’s body.

The court heard Jackson had a scratch below his right eye from where Mrs Lawless had put up a 'significant struggle'.

Miss Evans said: 'During that period he had been using a computer in his parent’ house.

'Police looked at his internet searches and discovered a keen interest in websites dealing with rape, mature women, forceful oral sex and sex with sleeping women.'

Retired shorthand typist Mrs Lawless lived alone on the Bryndulais Estate in the village of Llanllwni, Carmarthenshire.

She painted local scenes and made soaps and candles which she sold at galleries and craft markets.

Miss Evans said: 'She was a highly regarded, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to may people in the local community.

'Painting and gardening and a wide variety of craft hobbies were Irene’s favourite pastimes.

'She was a healthy living, peaceful, calm and thoughtful woman and was always hard-working and industrious. She was a real home body.'

Jackson, of Llanllwni, admitted murder and two charges of rape.

The court heard his only previous convictions were for minor motoring offences.

Judge John Royce QC said: 'Irene Lawless was a much-loved mother, sister and grandmother.'

'She was one of life’s givers, not takers and had everything to live for.'

Turning to Jackson he said: 'It’s clear from the computer that you had a perverted interest in rape.

'You had recently accessed a number of rape scene websites including one called real brutal sex.

'What is clear is that you brutally raped Irene Lawless and caused significant injuries to her face and body.

'They reveal the heartless violence you meted out to a defenceless grandmother for your own perverted gratification.

'It is clear she must have put up a significant struggle.

'These sickening rapes culminated in you strangling Mrs Lawless. The humiliation and mental and physical anguish you subjected her to are horrific.

'They are nothing short of evil depravity.'

Jackson was jailed for life for murder and 12 years for each of the rape attacks to run concurrently.

He ordered that Jackson must not be considered for parole for 28 years.

The judge added: 'Due to your warped and perverted mind, you may certainly well never be released and spend your remaining life in prison.'

'Many will say that is no less than you deserve.'

U.S. casino mogul's award grows to $40 million against 'Girls Gone Wild' founder

Serial exploiter of women Joe Francis, founder of #GirlsGoneWild, loses more than $40 million in court. Maybe karma?

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - U.S. casino owner Steve Wynn won $20 million in punitive damages for defamation on Tuesday, doubling his total judgment in a lawsuit accusing "Girls Gone Wild" creator Joe Francis of slandering him by falsely claiming that Wynn had threatened his life over a gambling debt.

A Los Angeles County Superior Court jury deliberated for about two hours before reaching its decision in the second phase of a defamation trial that capped a protracted, high-stakes legal feud between the two men.

On Monday, following a week-long trial that included testimony from legendary music producer Quincy Jones, the same jury awarded Wynn $20 million in damages for infliction of emotional distress and injury to his reputation.

The jurors also found that Francis had acted with malice, opening the door to additional damages intended as punishment. The $20 million punitive sum was decided after a subsequent round of testimony and arguments presented on Tuesday.

"There have been bigger defamation awards (but) I don't know that there have been many," Mitchell Langberg, one of Wynn's lawyers, said of the $40 million total.

[Excerpt] - The day that summed up the sheer ludicrousness of what it meant to be the editor of Loaded, the most notorious ‘lads’ mag’ of all time, is one etched on my memory. It was January 2004, and my team had been through our rivals’ magazines doing a ‘nipple count’ — meticulously tallying the number of bare nipples that appeared in one issue.

To our dismay, we’d been trumped by Maxim, who’d weighed in with a hefty 83 (which included one bare-chested man, but we let them have that). ‘Damn, they beat us this month,’ I announced. ‘What are we going to do about it?’ When one wag responded, ‘Why don’t we print 100 pairs of boobs, over six pages, in glorious close-up?’ we all whooped with delight and reported to the pub to celebrate.

So it was that we did a ‘We Love Boobs’ special, which notched up a then-record (although by today’s standards relatively tame) 200 nipples. As an extra layer of schoolboy comedy, we decided to caption each picture with a jokey term for breasts. From ‘aardvarks’ to ‘Zeppelins’, we had it covered.

Sitting around a boardroom table with six other university-educated men trying to think up 100 comedy words for breasts summed up just how low British men’s magazines had sunk. It was an intellectual low-water mark, but we’d spent a lot of time and money talking to our readers in research groups, and they’d repeatedly said Loaded’s winning formula should be ‘more birds, less words’.

The average Loaded reader — largely white, working class, 20-something blokes — had a simple palate, so we gave them what they wanted. To me, it was harmless fun, dictated by market forces. What’s more, I was paid more money than I’d ever earned in my life to do it. I’d always dreamed of editing Loaded and vowed to do whatever it took to stay there. I never stopped to consider issues like the crass sexualisation of women. Moral naysayers were party poopers, and if they attacked me, I’d attack them back — harder.

We were under massive pressure to sell magazines to keep our shareholders happy. We knew sex sold, so our thinking was: why not make Loaded a frenzied, Harrods-sale of nudity? It was knowingly mindless, and for a while it was fun — and extremely successful.

When our We Love Boobs issue (which had George Best’s wife, Alex, as the cover star) hit the news stands, our readers bombarded us with thank you letters and sales soared.

A few months later, I was crowned New Editor of the Year by my company and my bosses popped more corks than the Queen’s Jubilee sommelier.

Back then, it never once occurred to me that we were objectifying women or doing any harm. I fiercely denied that Loaded was a ‘gateway’ to harder pornographic magazines. It was in my own interests to do so. If we were classified as ‘top shelf’, we’d have been put in opaque plastic bags like the pornographic magazines, which would have been commercial suicide.

But such thoughts came home to roost five years later in 2009, when I finally grew up and became a father. It had such an effect on me and changed my views so forcibly that within a year I’d quit a dream job that, for me, had become a moral nightmare.

When I look back now, I see we were severely pushing the envelope of what was considered decent. We were normalising soft porn, and in so doing we must have made it more acceptable for young men to dive into the murky waters of harder stuff on the internet. And, for that, I have a haunting sense of regret.

Porn a factor in groping attacks

Here's more evidence to prove that porn is NOT "just harmless fantasy," & that it DOES fuel real-life harm to women and girls.

After a while, digital fantasy and masturbation is not enough and some perverts want to touch live bodies, experts believe.

“‘If I touch it,’ then the mere fact that they touched it triggers a response in the brain, and they fantasize on it,” Vernon Geberth, a former homicide squad commander with the New York Police Dept., told the New York Times.

Researchers say gropers come from all walks of life. Assistant professor Scott Bonn, of Drew University in New Jersey, says some deviants strike to carry out a sexual fetish or to satiate “an inappropriate pleasure driven by immature fantasies.” “They touch and run away,” Bonn told the paper. “They often masturbate after their groping attacks, so the inappropriate touching is a thrill-seeking act. It becomes addictive, so they become serial gropers.”

Experts say a groper’s motivation is different from that of a rapist. “The rapist is driven by a desire to control, dominate and even sometimes seriously injure a victim, whereas a groper’s motivation is for sexual gratification through inappropriate touching and violating the victim,” he says.

The free-spirited Native American, now 27 (though her online profile at SquirtNetwork.com gives her age as 25), says she was in it as much for the self-exploration as the money — and for a while, she found both. For much of the last decade, the San Fernando Valley — porn's longtime hub — was flush with cash from DVD sales and an online streaming boom. Knox shot for studios like Hustler and Vivid, picking up a few AVN Award nominations in the process. But this past April, she packed up her computer and and left the Valley. Now, from her home in Baja California, Knox does private webcam sessions for up to $15 per minute. Knox is not alone.

Webcams — or "cams" as they're more commonly referred in the industry — were once an online backwater populated by Eastern Europeans and low-quality, stop-and-go videos. In the past few years, they've emerged as the driving force of a new internet porn boom. For those at the top, the rewards are incredible. A popular model on a large cam site can generate over $40,000 in a single month. There are multiple revenue streams for a cam star, including group chats, but for many the goal is to find a "whale," an online sugar daddy who might spend $20,000 a month on you or, even better, a member of "the platinum club" — the high-net worth fans who spend more than $100,000 a year.

Webcams have been around for almost as long as the commercial internet, but the days of watching a monitor-lit star hunched over a keyboard are long gone. In the past few years, prosumer electronics, HD video-streams and hands-free operation have turned the cams from an also-ran to the porn industry's financial front-runner. And thanks to programs like Skype, cams have become much more of an interactive experience. If the appeal of those first webcams was voyeurism, the appeal of today's cams is their intimacy. The cam industry owes as much to phone sex as it does to porn. After all, the goal with cams isn't to get the customers off, but to seduce them into staying online — at $15 a minute, the sizzle is worth much more than the steak. Alec Helmy, publisher of the porn industry trade magazine Xbiz, calls cams "one of the industry's few bright spots."

While the rest of piracy-plagued porn is struggling to survive, he says top cam companies have been growing by as much as 20 percent annually. Douglas Richter, a rep for Adult Webmaster Empire (AWE), one of the industry's largest cam companies, estimates industry revenues at between $1.5 and $2 billion a year. And where the money goes, the stars have followed.

Cams are drawing increasingly high-profile stars, who are attracted to both the money and the adulation. A recent cam show by Jenna Haze* on AWE's LiveJasmin(dot)com attracted 10,000 paying followers. That's a lot of cash, even in an industry used to quick fortune. It's one reason a site like Live Jasmin can now operate in the same cultural space once reserved for luxury brands like Chandon or Bentley: Flo Rida name checked the site in his recent single, "Hey Jasmin."

Jasmin may not yet have the name recognition of Playboy, but that won't last for long. The site currently holds an Alexa ranking of 46, making it one of the 50 most popular sites in the entire world. On an average day, LiveJasmin(dot)com attracts more online viewers than the New York Times, Netflix or ESPN. By traffic — and possibly revenue — it's the largest adult company in the world. The key to cams' success is the interaction with the star — so unlike traditional porn, there's little incentive to pirate. A taped cam show is like a taxidermied pet: It might look the same, but it's a little lifeless. So while the rest of the porn industry fights to keep its content off torrent sites, cams are exploding. They may share a lineage with filmed porn, but it's a Darwinian offshoot that has suddenly found itself immune to the virus that's killing off its competitors. It's also changing the nature of the entire business.

(Washington Post) No parent should be shocked that five high school football players hired prostitutes while on a road trip to North Carolina last week. Nor is it especially surprising that the little johns were from football powerhouse DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville. Religion and prestige are rarely shields from temptation and stupidity. What’s new in this old-as-time story is that today, thanks to smartphones and the nearly complete submersion of the sex trade into the digital swamp, ordering three prostitutes to your hotel room is as easy as ordering a pizza.

This teen boy fantasy is closer to “Weird Science” than “Risky Business.” “The Internet is the new street corner, and I tell everyone that going down to 14th Street” — the street once known for prostitution in the District — “is nothing more than going to your browser now,” said Sgt. Ken Penrod, a vice detective with the Montgomery County police.

The bold step of ordering up a prostitute on an iPhone often begins as early as middle school, when legions of boys start downloading porn. Remember when the quest for certain issues of National Geographic or the hunt for Uncle Fred’s Playboy stash used to define porn exploration? Now that the family computer and its Net Nanny aren’t the only way to get online, the access to porn and paid sex is in the palms of our children’s hands, 24-7, giving the “Droid Does” slogan enhanced meaning. Mobile porn has become so prevalent among teens that there is even a nonprofit group, Fight the New Drug and a micro-industry of treatment camps aimed at teens who have a crippling addiction to it. For teens ogling mobile porn regularly, the next logical step is to act out that fantasy and click on the many ads urging viewers to order up live sex.

As horrified parents, how do we stop this? The 18 chaperons on the trip with the DeMatha team did bed checks at 1:30 and 4:30 a.m. They were almost as thorough as the Secret Service planning security for a presidential trip. Oh wait, scratch that. The Secret Service has its own little problem in this area. The DeMatha boys evaded the best efforts of their chaperons by placing their order at 5 a.m. Gonzaga boys soccer coach Scott Waller told The Washington Post that he confiscates laptops and cellphones when the team is on the road.

Get this: When Good Counsel coach Bob Milloy took 50 football players to Las Vegas for a game, they had 14 coaches, the school athletic director, trainer and strength coach plus two additional adults and two cops he hired just for the trip. If anything happened in Vegas, it stayed there. But maybe the cops were the final defense keeping it legal. Wait, that is legal in parts of Nevada. The simple fact is, keeping kids from doing what they want to do is tough. And an online debate has been raging about the fairness of DeMatha’s punishment — kicking the boys off the team. “They’re just teenagers being stupid teenagers. They should be suspended for a week, give them some community service in the school, and the coach should make them run some laps. Another case of the news media sensationalizing everything,” wrote T_Dubb, in the story’s comments.

That reaction mystified Penrod and others. “It. Was. Illegal,” he said. It wasn’t just immoral. If drugs were the issue, the debate about punishment wouldn’t even happen. And there would be no winks, no “boys will be boys” comebacks in online forums. This isn’t a problem limited to DeMatha or an anomaly in any way. Parents who think their kids would never dream of downloading porn or hiring prostitutes are kidding themselves. Penrod’s investigators see kids from all over Montgomery trawling the online prostitution sites. He remembers one kid who got stung in a case involving a sex worker, and police saw his profile pop up on a prostitution site the next day after he appeared in court.

The problem here isn’t only about limiting access. There are deeper lessons to address. The illegal purchase of sex, the fact that most American prostitution is a result of human trafficking and the reality that the plastic, bleached and enhanced world of online sex is a myth that twists ideas of human sexuality and relationships need to be discussed here. Parents cannot toss aside online porn as the equivalent of the curiosity they remember. Porn is everywhere. You click on a link for “Cute Animal Videos” and bam! you get barnyard acts by naked humans (true story — happened to me with the kids on the iPad this summer). Any child of any age with a Nook, a Kindle or an iPad can go from Word Search or Angry Birds to graphic, violent, degrading sex videos in just two clicks. And for older kids, not only are they awash in unrealistic, desensitizing images, but they are constantly being urged to take it to the next level, to go live. Families who don’t have uncomfortable but honest discussions about sex, porn and prostitution are putting kids at risk for some scary consequences.
